Joining in the final stretch of the organization’s bid for what was originally the 2024 Olympics, much of my time was spent preparing for two major milestones in the evaluation of Los Angeles by the International Olympic Committee (IOC): 

1. LA’s evaluation tour by the IOC: Roughly 20 IOC members were split into 3 groups and sent on tour buses to visit each of our 30 proposed Olympic venues throughout Los Angeles within 1 day. To bring each venue to life, I produced and coordinated: 

- Venue summary videos, broadcast on jumbotrons and complemented with surrounding screens, lighting, audio, and lasers as needed (i.e. always).
- Custom built Oculus Rift VR experiences showcasing the new Rams/Chargers stadium currently being built, as well as an archery game hosted at our future archery venue. 
- Augmented Reality tablets that showed our temporary venues in situ on location.
- Branding, signage and videos everywhere along the IOC’s route: from LAX, to LA Live, in hotel rooms and along highways. 
2. LA’s bid presentation to all IOC members: 
From a conference center in Lausanne, Switzerland, we presented our technical plans for LA's Olympic Games to the entire IOC membership. To help support our bid, we were given a room which we built into an immersive experiential zone that highlighted key aspects of our bid, which included:
- An interactive, 3D model of the city, overlaid with projection mapping and controlled by a touchscreen, supported by 12ft wrap-around LED screens. When users select a venue, the location would highlight on the model and video footage on the LEDs would showcase the venues with video and photography. 
- Oculus Rift VR stations, equipped with a 360° video of the Olympic Village at UCLA, a tour of the new Rams/Chargers stadium, and an interactive archery game, all custom created. 
The meetings ended in an unprecedented vote by the IOC to dual award both the 2024 and 2028 games at the same time, with Los Angeles winning 2028. Full press here.
